Scott Price Media Radio Network

Making live internet radio easier to discover, play, and personalize—through a custom station finder and a car-stereo-inspired player.

Independent project · Interface design · Front-end integration · Accessibility · QA

THE PROJECT

Radio listening with fewer obstacles.

The challenge

Internet radio directories can make it difficult to find stations, start listening, and return to favorites. The goal was to offer a familiar, straightforward listening experience across devices.

The approach

Combine a searchable station directory with consistent Play/Stop controls and a prominent player. Add user-programmable presets, visual playback feedback, and accessibility-minded interactions.

THE PLAYER

A familiar car-stereo experience.

Live audio playback, a spectrum analyzer, volume control and six programmable presets in a custom player interface.

Programmable presets

Listeners can hold a preset for two seconds to save a station. Saved choices remain available on the same device for future visits.

Accessible interaction

Preset programming supports keyboard hold with Enter or Space, progress feedback, and confirmation. The player also supports reduced-motion preferences.

Consistent playback

Live radio uses straightforward Play/Stop controls. Programming a preset does not interrupt the station already playing.

STATION DISCOVERY

One directory. Two ways to browse.

The Radio Finder supports searching by station name, city, state, or genre, with Grid and List views using the same station data and preset storage.

MY CONTRIBUTION

From design decisions to production testing.

Design and integration

Defined and refined the listener experience, interface behavior, station discovery, preset programming, and responsive layouts. Integrated and tested AI-assisted front-end development as part of the broader Scott Price Media platform.

Quality assurance

Tested Grid and List behavior, live playback, preset persistence, keyboard interaction, and browser-specific control issues. Iterative testing led to improvements in consistent controls and volume behavior.

Tools and practices: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, responsive interface design, browser debugging, keyboard testing, and reduced-motion support.

THE RESULT

A working experience employers can explore.

The radio network brings station discovery, playback, and saved favorites into one coherent interface. The project reflects practical product thinking: simplify interactions, test real behavior, and refine based on what users encounter.
